Introduction

Ahoy, folks! Welcome to my art gallery, where I offer a beautiful glimpse of my chaotic soul and exhibit my unrestrained expressions towards this world. Before you press on, I have one disclaimer to make though: there are no colourful pictures whatsoever; just words, those boring black and white letters. Yep, this is an anthology! I have somehow learned to harness the magical power of words by turning them into poems, and I have compiled a hundred or so, painstakingly so, even organising them into 10 sections as follows:

N.B. I will update this blog every now and then.

Each poem tells a story, some complicated, others not so much, but I hope that you can appreciate and relate to most if not all of them because every single one of them is a brainchild of mine. Poetry is one way I cope with the volatile and vile world as well as how I make sense of my conflicted feelings. One fine day, once my physique can no longer serve my psyche, may this be its autobiography.

Section 7: Star-Crossed Lovers

  Prologue With blood is this letter written With a heart may this be returned Lovebirds Perched on a little tree branch A pair of little lovebirds A raven and a dove A heaven on Earth A couple living in two worlds Bordered by a fine line Drawn by distance Yet parted by time Perhaps tomorrow, or the day after But not today For if it’s meant to be, dear Then it shall stay We Can Still Love Each Other If love is punishable by death At least we can love each other until our very last breaths Even if the entire universe is against us We’ll still have each other throughout all the adventures If love is indeed a crime Then I want to forever be your partner-in-crime But if our love is doomed to fail Who am I to deny that love is not a fairy tale That Makes the Two of Us You said you loved the book but certainly not the movie And disliked the actors but not the characters or story You told me you preferred tea to coffee, and cacti to roses Well, that makes the two of us You hated yourself ...
